It's our 20th Anniversary!

My Sister's Pantry is celebrating our 20th year of operation in 2019! Hard to believe how much we've grown. We started as place to get a warm meal and some groceries. One of the first days had more volunteers than clients. Word spread and we are now full to capacity. It is through generous donations that we continue to provide for those in need. Please consider helping us continue to serve our community in our 20th year.

Give Help

We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry, but we need your help to make this happen. Your gift of financial support, food, clothing, time and partnership can make a real difference.

Donate financial support

We are local people serving our community. Every gift you give — big or small — helps transform lives. My Sister's Pantry is a non-profit organization and all contributions are tax deductible. Donate here.

You can also donate just by shopping online at Amazon! Set up My Sister's Pantry as your charity at AmazonSmile
, then buy what you normally would. Amazon donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to the Pantry - at no added cost to you.

Donate food or clothing

We rely on donations of food and clothing from local businesses, community groups — and people like you! We gratefully accept non-perishable food items, clean and gently-used clothing, travel-sized hygiene items, and plastic bags.

Are you planting a garden? Our clients love fresh vegetables and fruit. We may even have a crew to help you harvest your fresh goodies!

Volunteers are the heartbeat and driving force of My Sister's Pantry. Join us in greeting our clients, preparing and serving hot meals, helping pack groceries, staffing the clothing bank and much more. Walk-in volunteers are welcome, but please contact us if you're bringing a group of 4+ people to make sure we have space.

Proudly serving our South Sound community since 1999

Our mission and services

The Pantry's primary objective is to help improve the lives of families struggling financially. Since opening its doors to the community in 1999, My Sister's Pantry has become one of the busiest food banks in the Tacoma area.

We are open three times a month to serve a substantial hot meal, distribute groceries, and provide a store-like where clients can "shop" for men's, women's, and children's clothing. My Sister's Pantry, a 501 c 3 nonprofit, is an outreach program of First United Methodist Church of Tacoma. We serve 350+ families and individuals each month and annually distribute approximately 125,000 pounds of food.

Our leadership

Executive Director Martha Curwen brings a wealth of experience working in both the financial and non-profit sectors.
